What the Light in a Dark World Means

What does it mean to live as light in a world defined by darkness? This message takes us deep into one of the most striking images in all of Scripture, drawn from Matthew 5:13-16, where we are told plainly that we are the light of the world. But to grasp what that means, we have to first understand what light itself represents throughout the Bible. From the very first act of creation in Genesis 1, where God spoke light into existence as the foundation for all life, to the declaration in 1 Timothy 6 that God dwells in unapproachable light, Scripture consistently presents light as the presence, activity, and glory of God himself.
